Construction and Design of X-, Y- and Z-Axis

Basis for a fast and secure movement of the machine column in X-direction is the machine bed in flat bed design. A distance of 1.200 mm, in combination with compact, hardened roller bearing guides grants highest precision. The X-axis is operated by means of 2 pre-loaded electro-motors. Force transmission is done with the help of a rack and pinion drive, bolted in the center of the machine bed. The energy chain is protected from external influences underneath the telescopic cover.

 

Machine Column – Axis Y

The machine column is a steel welded construction with compact guideways. Two liquid cooled feed motors in the Y-Axis assure fast acceleration, as well as high rapid speeds at a constant operation temperature

 

Headstock carrier Y-Axis and Headstock Z-Axis

Made of GGG 60 cast iron, the head is guided on the column with 2 hardened slide ways. Spindle stock, also made of GGG 60 cast iron, has two opposed compact guides. Long guidings lead to the machine column and the spindle stock and grant highest force transmissions at a constant quality. In order to avoid a tilting of the column, the Y and Z Axis are arranged as close as possible.

 

SHW-Duo Drive

Driven by 2 vertical ball screws with separate drives, measurement systems and CNC axes to ensure a long-lasting, accurate, highly dynamic acceleration of the vertical unit.

 

Digital feed drives

Digital feed drives for the X-, Y- and Z axes permit working at a high contour precision with constant torque. Feed and rapid feed range.

Electrical Equipment

According to EN 60204, VBG 4 for 400/230V (±10%) 3 phases, 50 cycles, fuse 160 A, slow. Control voltage 24 V. Total power approx. 80 kVA, 125 A. The separate control cabinet contains the electronic drive units for main spindle- and feed motors, the programmable interface for control and the switch gears for additional equipment. Protective system of control cabinet, feed motors and main motor IP 54. Machine and control cabinet are connected via plug connectors.

 

Air Condition System Electrical Cabinet

Mounted on cabinet doors. Bicameral system. No exchange of internal air with external air. Automatic temperature reduction of internal air thru an evaporator. At the same time dehumidification of the internal air.

Power Saving Mode

All the SHW machines are provided with a build-in energy-saving mode, setting the machines into standby according to pre-set time intervals. A large number of aggregates can be switched-off completely with the energy-saving mode (for example the coolant system, the swarf conveyor and the hydraulics) thus considerably reducing the power consumption to under 1kW.

 

Paintwork

The paintwork is carried out in RAL colors, DD textured paint, silky gloss, oil – and sodium-free.

Operator Platforn

The operator platform, travelling in X-direction, is rigidly mounted on the machine column right hand side, thus granting an optimal view on the operating process. As an additional feature the operator platform is adjustable at will by 2.050 mm in vertical direction.

The soundproof operator platform is equipped with an integrated CNC control station and a non-slip rubber mat. For writing and small assembly works a tabletop with storage compartments under the workbench is available. Tools have sufficient place in four pockets attached on the side. Two sockets are available to connect external devices. A compressed air connection is also available.

A secured door allows the access to the operator platform from the backside. An additional divided sliding door with window provides access to the working area.
